Why do I need an editor?

Writers and students have many different reasons for requiring an editing service, but there are two major benefits for hiring an editor.
                                    1. It saves you time and energy
                                    2. Two sets of eyes are always better than one.
Mistakes happen, and no one knows everything there is to know about writing.  We'll catch things you miss, and we'll provide suggestions and notes to help you make your project the best it can be.

Why are there so many editing levels?

Because there are so many different kinds of editing needs. Basically, research paper editing is different from fiction editing, and we want everyone's expectations for the types of edits and prices to be clear and upfront.  If you have questions, navigate through our Getting Started pages to find out exactly what type of edits you'll need, and you can always feel free to contact us with questions!

                                    How do I order edits?

Ordering edits from us is a very simple process.  Just click on Order Edits, fill out the form, upload your document and send it!  We'll review the form and get back to you within 12 hours, but it's very likely we'll respond sooner.  Because we're an online editing and proofreading service we can edit and return your work quickly and efficiently.

                                    How does your pricing work?

We charge by the word rather than the hour so that you know upfront how much your edits will cost.  We have extremely competitive prices because we're able to keep overhead costs very low, so you'll get the best value for your money. We also have a rate scale, which means that the longer your work, the more money you will save!   Check out our Pricing and UK Pricing pages for more information.

Will you write my paper for me?

Unfortunately that answer will always be no.  We explain why under our Terms and Conditions page. We're happy to point out mistakes and provide notes, but we cannot write your paper for you.

Do you only edit student papers?

Nope. We also do copy editing and proofreading for fiction manuscripts, CVs and resumes, cover letters, and admissions essays.  Our expertise is in the fiction and academic world, but we have also had experience proofreading business documents.  If you have questions about whether or not we are able to edit your particular project, please contact us.

What are your qualifications as an editor?

We both have advanced academic degrees from distinguished universities as well as years of experience teaching, editing, and writing.  You can read more about who we are here.

Do you have any experience editing for ESL students?

Loads! We have most recently done ESL editing for two Masters Degree students whose first language was Spanish.  We understand the challenges of writing in non-native languages and provide helpful and kind feedback for all levels of ESL students.
